“Allah is beautiful and loves beauty.”

In our age of Instagram filters, magazine covers, and viral beauty standards, many of us—men and women alike—feel pressured to conform to ideals that often distort what God has created. We edit our faces, sculpt our bodies, buy into trends, all in search of validation. Yet, Islam reminds us of something far more profound: we are made as we were meant to be, and true beauty lies not in flawless skin or sculpted abs, but in the creation and character bestowed by Allah.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Allah is beautiful and loves beauty.”

This hadith is a reminder that beauty—whether in our outer appearance, our acts, or the intention behind our deeds—is something Allah loves. It is He who has fashioned every soul in perfect design, every feature crafted with wisdom. Just as He loves to see the effects of His blessings on us, He resists misery, pretence or forcing ourselves into falsehoods for worldly acceptance.

This does not mean ignoring grooming or health, but it means recognising that our worth does not depend on fitting a fleeting standard. Beauty rooted in humility, integrity, gratitude and compassion endures. When your soul is at peace with who Allah has made you, when your heart aligns with goodness, then you are beautiful in a way no trend can mimic.
